Three Things Challenge No: 561

Today’s prompt words: take – crisp – tin

A young harried waiter, already quite tired from breakfast rush hour.

proceeded to ask a poor unkempt woman if he could take her order.

Her cheek-to-cheek smile brightened the underpaid employee’s day

as from the folded menu she requested the largest size house special.

Scrambled eggs, several slices of crisp expensive bacon, hash browns,

side order of buttered toast and please bring me a huge cup of coffee.”

The off-the-beaten path diner’s owner, worrisome ’bout payment. eyes soon

widened when the woman pulled out a tin from her higgledy-piggledy purse.

It was far from empty, rather filled to the brim with crisp $20 dollar bills fresh

from the ATM – quite a surprise.

“Never judge a book by its’s cover” – old harried looking woman was actually

working undercover researching how restaurant owners treat ALL their customers.
