Today’s prompt: ‘a phrase you grew up with’

The first one that came to mind when I read this week’s prompt:

“Speak the truth and shame the devil.”

This common saying recorded by preacher, Hugh Latimer, dates
back to year 1555.

It’s a belief I’ve practiced my entire life. which backfired a few times
leaving me thinking why I didn’t conceal the truth.

I’m thankful to God that I maintained that persona and passed it down
to my children.

Today I can look in the mirror. wrinkles and all, and know I followed the
Lord’s guidelines.

The adverse effect of not telling the truth could result in lots of confusion.
miscommunication and hurtful feelings towards friends and loved ones.

Also, as we age our memory recall changes (not for the better).

If you tell the truth, the truth remains the same and no need to wonder
about words and comments.
