It’s hard to believe my local bank charges senior citizens monthly fees for
maintaining an account.
I think it’s time to look into the why and if not happy with the answers
received opt to change banks.

Very true. A lot of banks charge customers a monthly fee on one account which gives them ‘perks’ on other promotions like foreign exchange and an attractive interest rate on high savings. It’s a question of seeing whether the charges are value for money. The ones offered through our bank don’t apply to anything we do or have, so we just have an ordinary account.

Any perks (rewards) are added to one’s income during tax season.
The business for this account has been defunct for some time now thus informing the bank of such may alter the fees.
