Meditation for Healing

Day No: 8 on a writing streak is a win for me as writing is one

of three favorite pleasurable indoor hobbies.

A discovery: ‘Sharing my self-love journey is cathartic’.

Today’s tidbit of info refers to my experience with meditation.

The components of this exercise were a quiet place (my couch),

a chosen color (orchid) and belly breathing (inhale count of

four seconds-hold breath for four and exhale slowly for

another four) – repeat several times.

I followed the suggested directions inhaling, holding and

exhaling the aroma of lilacs.

The intention was to achieve an emotionally calm state

of mind.

Success – I fell asleep.

First Northeaster of 2022

Seven days into the new year – a chance to watch snowfall.

Untouched snow is beautiful.

Snowflakes continually change direction as the wind howls.

I access my self-love journal and open to a random page.

I read:

“My journey begins now; if nobody loves me I’ll

learn to love myself.”

To thyself be kind, create happiness through

positive ideas.

For atmosphere I journaled:

1. comfy place
2. candle burning
3. casual dress – pajamas
4. cup of hot tea
5. relaxing music
   

Today would be an excellent day to put this

idea to the test.

Tomorrow I’ll be faced with snow removal.

Although the apartment complex’s lot will be

plowed, the tenant is responsible to clear the

area around their car and of course remove

the snow from their vehicle.

Gone are the days when kids with shovels in

hand asked if an individual needed assistance.

We older folk brave a much newer ‘world of

entitlement’ existence where a good portion of

youth are disrespectful, unappreciative and the

word ‘allowance’ is not part of their vocabulary. .
