JusJoJan2023 ~ Day 20

today’s prompt:  ‘phantom’
When I first set up my blog I chose the ‘Hens & Chicken’ theme.
Thoughts of oldest daughter (RIP) played a part in that decision.
One day she’d brought home a school project, a Hens & Chicken
cactus which flourished and produced little offset plantlets around
the perimeter of the hen.
These plantlets a.k.a. chicks could be snapped off and replanted
elsewhere.
The start of this particular succulent family, a gift for Mom, was
the beginning of many families gifted to others.
Six years into blogging I thought about revamping my blog and
adding a new theme.
My new chosen picture was stored in my cell phone for usage
at a later date.
Access day was a moment of disbelief. How did this happen?
No other picture similar surrounded this one thus not the result of
double exposure.
Was this a sign not to change the original theme?
Am I a superstitious person?
Along with this for a period of time I experienced what are referred
to as visitation dreams.
Although my daughter never appeared in these extremely bothersome
nightmares I wondered if some phantom from the past was sending
me a message.
What do you think? Any ideas what happened to my original picture?

SoCS ~ November 12th

Today’s prompt: starts with or contains ‘cel’ . . .

When someone asks you about your hobbies, what’s the correct response?
Does one list them in alphabetical order or rather preference of enjoyment?
Should a person include a list of all the hobbies participated throughout their lifetime?
Would it be better to choose three crafts from the present time you have WIPs?
It can be a quandary if the person is fairly private in life with no desire to brag about
all their accomplishments.
I find myself amid others in the above category of been there done that with no future
intentions to every attempt certain crafts again.
For me tis easier to devise a short list of basics with subcategories.
1. Blogging and creating poems (syllabic and rhyme)
2. Crocheting (trying out new stitches on YouTube channels) yet to find the correct one.
3. Reading books on topics geared to my miscellaneous interests >> often one choice
has little in common with another.

One woman in a group I joined contributes excellent articles from which I’m gaining
knowledge.
Earlier this week I wrote a post about the benefits of doing a crossword puzzle each
day and how the subconscious mind works to solve clues when one is busy during the
day completing other tasks.
This morn was day #4 and after finishing the majority of the puzzle I reverted back
to the previous ones and quite surprised what I’d read in the article actually had
merit of truth.

Another submission by the same group member contained a list of 50 tips on
how to improve one’s life and ward off negativity.

Unable to print it out I took notes miscellaneous topics >> some relate to another
while some are totally different in nature.

I think I have my work cut out for me as I proceed to move forward to lead
happier days during the last chapter of life.

Feeling Similar to a Wallflower at a Dance

Today I did a little research – reviewed statistics and facts.

Two years submitting blog posts and the occasional hiatus with good reason.

It’s difficult to understand how a person with thousands of fans winds up with only a few likes. How is this possible?

In my profession this retiree – a full-charge bookkeeper – had to balance the books each month.

There appears to be something amiss with the numerical figures I witness when accessing blogs.

Humans by nature compare – quality versus quantity.

Although I’ve touched on topics pertaining to my personal life,  I refrain from offering up all the embed details.

Where do I fit in? I ask myself that question.

Not a prude by nature; however, I refuse to write trash.

It’s becoming more apparent (similar to the dating world) the genuine nice man or woman isn’t in demand.

Life hasn’t always been easy and no desire to write about all the dirty laundry – saving that for an actual book.

To those who have befriended me I say “Thank You” – to others well it would have been nice to have known you.

Maybe the next two years will be different – new content – always hope – remain positive in thought – healthy mind.

I shall sit alone with my thoughts as how to progress – continue blogging – hoping for more interaction and more fans.

The other option is return to my favorite past-time for decades where at the end of the day each step moving forward gave me great satisfaction.

Time is precious! I don’t wish to waste it! – I tried my best! The future awaits! God Bless!
