The Sunday Whirl ~ Wordle 589

prompt words:  lockdown, watch, danger, hunt, challenge, glass,
flesh, gathering, disrupt, murder, craft,
cut

Eddie, no stranger to danger, drove hours to participate
in his state’s deer hunt challenge.

Thankful lockdown now was behind him and eager to fine tune
his craft once the initial gathering of fellow hunters came to a
close he quickly swooped up his gear and headed towards an
observation post, a watch tower.
It was prime time for deer to wander the forest.
This day the sudden loud noise from a chainsaw would disrupt
the deer and lessen his chances of taking home a buck.

Tired from the long drive quite disappointed he shut his eyes
and soon sleep overcame him.
Hours later the other two members of his group returned
to awaken him.
They had been successful and for a brief period shared
their stories.
Eddie soon had to face the fact he fell into the class of
inexperienced hunters. There would be no cut Venison in
his chest freezer this year.
Some folks consider killing a deer (even for food sustenance)
murder.
Perhaps the preservation of wildlife was the chainsawer’s

intention, to allow the deer more time to fatten their flesh.
Once home Eddie wasted no time downing a tall glass of
cold beer.

MLMM – Wordle #210

Today’s words: fold – jittery – strapless – dining room – kitten – capacious – roister –
elbows – doe – low – blind – witty

A beautiful young woman, jittery as a kitten, sat in the dining room of The
Weeping Mandolin Restaurant waiting for her blind-date’s arrival.

Anxious, the gal’s facial expression was overcome with a doe-eyed look as she
continued to fidget with the contents of her capacious purse.

Suddenly she stopped and began to fold and unfold the same cloth napkin

while trying hard not to allow her elbows to touch the table.

Thirty minutes later handsome Harry roistered into the restaurant’s lobby
arm-in-arm with a much younger babe wearing a gaudy strapless dress.

Was it him? No, it couldn’t be him! That would be such a low blow to any

genuine woman’s ego.

His explanation, a witty remark blaming his secretary for the date night mix-up.

Ugh!

Feelings of exasperation overwhelmed her yet she proceeded to exit the
restaurant in a lady-like manner.

The Sunday Whirl # 476

Today’s words: risk – power – contract – flight – doubt – strip – die – board – cast –
assault – crisis – right

Procrastination – uumm – tackle another crisis ??
Right now I’d like to cast an evil spell on the person
who removed my still warm laundry from the dryer
.
Without doubt twas one of the newer younger tenants
lacking patience who couldn’t wait a few moments
or ascend a flight of stairs.

I feel so violated to find my clean clothes thrown upon
a not-so-clean board secured to the laundry room wall.

It appears that with age one is often stripped of their rights.
In my defense I hadn’t left my laundry unattended for hours
and there was another dryer available for use.
It felt like a no-contact assault had been committed against
a person (me) who never once in over 10 years met with such
an experience.

An initial thought to open that dryer door and let the person’s
time run out to find their clothes still wet crossed my mind.

A person who doesn’t feel like two wrongs make a right I
chose the higher road – tis better to be nice – own persona’s contract.

Adage: “Old habits die hard.”

Although far from a happy camper I finished the Wordle.
(today’s writing accomplishment)
I have yet to learn all about the updated WP changes – snail’s pace.
